Our Purpose
Unleashing the Power of Diversity
At Armanino, our purpose is to be the most innovative and entrepreneurial firm that makes a positive impact on the lives of our clients, our people and our communities. Achieving our purpose requires a culture that unleashes the power of diversity and creates an environment in which every member of the Armanino team feels respected, valued for their uniqueness and experiences, connected to their colleagues and the firm, confident to speak up and comfortable to be themselves.
Diversity & Inclusion

All Are Welcome @ Armanino

CEO Action Pledge

A Promise to Invest in Our Values

In 2019, Matt Armanino signed the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion Pledge to cement the firm’s commitment to develop programs and initiatives that identify and foster opportunities for underrepresented groups.

As a member of the IDEAL team, Matt is on the front lines of participating in the strategy and execution of programs and policies aimed at moving the needle on both diversity and inclusion.
Recruiting Diverse Partners and Staff
We are currently re-examining our recruiting process to maximize the impact on diverse hiring. We are also looking at ways that we can extend our recruiting arm to build the school-to-accounting pipeline in a way that makes the accounting profession attractive and accessible to students of color.
Crucial Conversations
In alignment with the firm’s commitment to inclusion and to ensure underrepresented voices are heard, we regularly host difficult, but meaningful and necessary, firm-wide conversations about social injustice, including issues of racism, gender equality, and challenges faced by members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Charitable Giving
IDEAL is teaming with the Armanino Foundation, the firm’s charitable giving arm, to identify opportunities to give and volunteer for causes that serve underrepresented groups. We are committed to doing our part to promote diversity and opportunity for minorities who have historically lacked access. The Armanino Foundation formally added racial justice to its core focuses, which also include education and the arts, health and social services, animal welfare and sustainability.
An Open Door

Like the rest of the firm, IDEAL has an open-door policy and encourages all employees to participate and make suggestions. For example, our LGBTQ+ internal programming was the direct result of vocal employees who approached IDEAL with ideas and advice on how to make it happen. The result was a successful series of Pride Month programming, including Crucial Conversations.

We are always looking for more ways to promote inclusion and foster a respectful and responsive work environment. And we ask that partners, staff and clients contact us with ideas that further that goal. Already, we have had great feedback from clients and are working with many to co-host events or have them join us as panelists for important discussions about diversity and inclusion.

Continual Improvement

Our Progress

Armanino participated in the 2020 Accounting MOVE Project, which includes a diversity benchmark for accounting and advisory firms relative to the industry. This information helps us understand our progress in relation to finding, retaining, developing and advancing diverse talent of all sorts. The data revealed that we are currently tracking at or above our peer firms in percentages of employees of all ethnicities.

MOVE Project Highlights

  • Among all full-time employees, 44% are racial  and ethnic, which puts Armanino in the top 25% of U.S. accounting firms for diversity.
  • Armanino has one of the most diverse group of women partners, with 22% of women partners being racial and ethnic minorities.

Vault Employer Rankings

  • Vault currently ranks Armanino as the #9 accounting firm for minorities and the LGBTQ+ community, the #19 firm for women and the #11 accounting firm overall for diversity and inclusion.
