Q&A

Q. Without naming names, tell us about your favorite client and why you enjoyed working with them.
I have a large client that always has numerous interesting and challenging issues. They are also very interested in learning and understanding the technical issues and concepts associated with their business from a tax standpoint. As a result, I get to discuss and work through many technical issues with them and those discussions always produce great results that lead to growth, innovation and learning opportunities.
Q. What keeps you up at night?
I am determined to provide the right and best answer possible for my clients. The idea of not meeting or exceeding a client’s expectations actually leaves a knot in the pit of my stomach.
Q. Describe your work style.
I take a personal interest in all of my clients. I get enjoyment out of their success and I want to be part of it. I believe we are an extension of their accounting department, working collaboratively to achieve their tax needs.
Q. What’s your proudest moment?
I was the first in my family to graduate college and graduation was one of my proudest moments. I remember walking down the hallway so close to graduation and thinking, “where’s the drums and marching band? I’m finally doing it.”
Q. Who is (or was) the most influential person in your life
Both of my parents – I was very fortunate and blessed to have two great parents who were successful entrepreneurs and great role models when it came to my work and in life.
Q. If you could pass on a nugget of wisdom to aspiring accountants or consultants, what would that be?
Your career is what you make of it. Challenge yourself, be responsive, creative and proactive in providing the best service to your clients you can offer.
