Q. What was it that drew you to Armanino?
The culture and the bright people at the firm. This is a place where professionals can grow and specialize so that we can come up with solutions to nearly any client challenge.
Q. Without naming names, tell us about your favorite client and why you enjoyed working with them.
It’s a corporate client who I’ve been working with for more than 25 years. I’ve seen a lot of leadership changes over the years and it’s great that I’ve been able to establish successful and prosperous relationships with all of them. It started with me teaching their controller how to prepare returns and our role has expanded to handling all of their compliance. It’s always rewarding to grow alongside a client as they succeed in their business goals.
Q. Describe your work style.
Involved with my clients, approachable to our firm’s managers and staff, and with a sense of humor to lighten the mood.
Q. What’s your proudest moment?
Professionally, it was successfully leaving a Big Four firm to go out on my own. Personally, the birth of my two kids.
Q. Who is (or was) the most influential person in your life
My parents, who instilled their values in me. Everything from hard work to honesty, integrity and the Golden Rule.
Q. If you could pass on a nugget of wisdom to aspiring accountants or consultants, what would that be?
Pass the CPA exam as early as you can. Once you’re out of school and working, your time becomes very limited and precious. Find a practice area that you really enjoy and excel in it.
