Q&A

Q. Describe your work style.
I empower people in my team with the freedom to make informed and sometimes bold decisions. As someone whose goal is to serve the team, I’m good at reading when they need me to step in or take a step back. This helps contribute to their development and ensures our clients are getting that insightful and forward-thinking advice that they’re after.
Q. What’s your proudest moment?
When my daughters were born. I remember feeling so proud, it felt as though everything around me had changed. The air was fresh, the sky looked so vibrant, the sun on my skin felt different. I knew that my life had just become so much better.
Q. Who is (or was) the most influential person in your life?
My parents, they came to the U.S. with very little and worked hard to achieve a better life for our family.
Q. If you could pass on a nugget of wisdom to aspiring accountants or consultants, what would that be?
Always start the work by putting yourself in your client’s shoes. By being mindful of your client’s needs, you can identify opportunities that they may not know are there. It also allows you to get a better sense of their needs and how you can support them.
Q. What do you love most about your work?
I see tax accounting as the place where numbers meet the law, and that’s what I love most about my work. That intersection between business, finance and regulation is what drew me to taxes. It’s fun because the law is constantly changing, so you need to stay up to speed and always prepared to solve the puzzle.
