Q&A

Q. Make a prediction, describe your vision of the business future.
To be financially successful, entertainment professionals must evolve and use social media and technology, such as blogging or YouTube, to build their own brand. They will need to focus on having multiple streams of income, instead of the more traditional model of one source of income from acting, directing, writing, etc. For example, they can become involved with companies whose products or causes they are passionate about. From a business management perspective, technology will become even more important, because clients will need to be able to access our services instantly.
Q. What is the toughest decision you have ever made?
Q. Without naming names, tell us about your favorite client and why you enjoyed working with them.
My favorite clients are the ones that trust me and allow me to strategize with them so they can achieve their financial goals, such as having enough money to live comfortably in retirement. I really enjoy becoming part of my clients’ families and having them become part of mine. I have relationships with them on a personal level, not just about the financial aspects of their life.
Q. Describe your work style.
I try to recognize my staff’s individual talents and allow them to use their strengths, so our team can provide our clients with top-notch service. I deal with all the financial aspects, big and small, of my clients’ businesses, and I’m dedicated to doing whatever it takes to get the job done. I’m available 24/7, and if a client has a problem, I want us to be one of the first phone calls they make.
Q. What’s your proudest moment?
Professionally, it was when I passed the CPA exam. Personally, it was when I became mature enough to trust my gut instincts.
Q. Who is (or was) the most influential person in your life
In my professional life, partner Ken Coelho has been much more than a great mentor and coach. He has always empowered me to learn and grow, and encouraged me to stretch and dream bigger. I have been inspired by his natural leadership abilities, his selflessness and his enthusiasm to help others. He taught me how to listen, be compassionate and understand other people’s perspectives, rather than just my own. This has been a powerful tool that I have implemented in many aspects of my personal and career life.
