Q&A
Q. What was it that drew you to Armanino?
I liked the people before I worked with them; I felt a friendly, trusted connection with Armanino employees while working for another firm in the past and that really set a positive tone for the company in my mind.
Q. Make a prediction and describe your vision of the future of the general business environment for your area of expertise or the industries you serve.
We’re going to have to adjust for the more-complex situations between the demands of accounting and tax regulations that will change over time. The businesses overall and their service providers will have to evolve with those demands in the future.
Q. Without naming names, tell us about your favorite client and why you enjoyed working with them.
It’s difficult to choose a favorite when each of my clients brings an added value to my work by appreciating and following my input and expertise in our work together; they come to me with questions and trust our work relationship, altogether creating a greater satisfaction overall.
Q. What is the toughest decision you have ever made?
It’s an ongoing battle to keep myself balanced in order to be beneficial to myself, my clients, and the firm.
Q. Describe your work style.
An outcome-based approach; I work toward the best bottom line for my clients’ needs. My decision is based on both the immediate outcome (work product delivery to the client), and longer-term outcome (review by tax auditors, financial statement auditors, SEC, etc.).
Q. What’s your proudest moment?
Every project completion is a proud moment for me because I’m consistently working hard to make sure everything I do is best for my client, my career, and the firm.
Q. If you could pass on a nugget of wisdom to aspiring accountants or consultants, what would that be?
Always think, "does this make sense?" in your actions. Look at the bigger picture to avoid going down a rabbit hole or sweating the small stuff! By looking at the bigger picture, you’re able to add more impact to your client and potentially come up with questions or ideas no one has thought of yet.
