Providers who received over $10,000 in Provider Relief Fund (PRF) payments between July 1, 2020, and December 31, 2020, can begin the reporting process for Period 2 on January 1, 2022. The reporting period ends on March 31, 2022.
Period 2 will include many providers who were not required to report in Period 1. If providers did not receive any PRF payments between April 10, 2020, and June 20, 2020, or received less than $10,000 in this period, they were not required to report. If you were required to report in Period 1, but received less than $10,000 in Period 2, an additional report is not required.
If you did report in Period 1 and are required to report in Period 2, you should know that expenses and lost revenues reported in Period 1 cannot be used in Period 2 reporting. Any provider who received Period 1 PRF payments and did not report by the end of the grace period on November 30, 2021, must return their PRF payments by December 30, 2021. Instructions for returning the payments are on the Health Resources & Services Administration website.
If you are completing your first report, you should register in the PRF portal if you have not already done so. You should also review the reporting requirements and download the portal worksheets to help prepare for your submission.
