Q&A

Q. How has your professional experience shaped your thinking about your area of expertise?
Tax laws are constantly being revised, so companies need expertise for navigating this ever-changing landscape. Specifically, they are concerned about complying with IRS regulations while at the same time minimizing their overall tax liability. This requires a great deal of attention, yet most business owners prefer to focus on growing their businesses, not on managing the financial and compliance aspects.

I provide insight and interpretation on the constantly changing tax laws that provide the foundation of effective financial management. I communicate to my clients how these changes affect their business, especially their bottom lines, as lowering taxes can most often equal increased profitability.
Q. Describe your work style.
I am always ready to serve my clients, whenever they need me. Clients tell me they appreciate my availability and responsiveness.
Q. What has been your greatest lesson learned over your career?
Do not be afraid to ask questions or seek assistance from others with more experience in particular areas of taxation.
Q. What are some of the common biggest areas for improvement you see when you begin working with a new client?
I often work to improve their communication with their service providers. I also act as their liaison in complex matters.
Q. Without naming names, tell us about your favorite client and why you enjoyed working with them.
One of my favorite clients was an elderly gentleman with whom I met often at his home. He valued my advice, and we developed a close professional and personal relationship. He was a former oil and gas executive who wrote an autobiography and had many amazing stories to tell. My favorites included one about his childhood friend, Johnny Carson.
