David Button

David is a Business Development Specialist with Armanino’s Solid Waste Practice, with more than 10 years of audit, consulting, tax and rate review experience. He began his career with Armanino in 2005 and has extensive experience working with cities to develop and implement rate structures that help eliminate revenue migration from customer billings (a flaw in the rate system) that is statewide. David also has experience performing financial statement audits and reviews, cost recovery, cost allocation, operational statement audits, franchise fee audits, rate applications, RFP modeling and rate setting, rate analysis, internal controls, route audits and tax planning and preparation.

David’s experience extends beyond just audit and consulting services for cities and contracted utilities; he is the son of a garbage man. Before coming to work at Armanino, David worked many summers at a solid waste company, and spent many evenings in counsel meetings working to understand the industry inside and out.

David is a member of the California Refuse Recycling Council, the California Recycling Recovery Association and the California Society of CPAs. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Accounting and Finance from California Polytechnic University San Luis Obispo.
